In 2008 Judy called to ask if I would succeed her at the head of the Protean lineage in the event of her death. I am currently in that process. Not surprisingly, the shoes don't fit.Geoff Millerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04235898640216272746noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19158895.post-87193854576060459302014-04-05T14:06:36.813-07:002014-04-05T14:06:36.813-07:00(Deborah Bender)

He created the design during CoG's first year of operation (1975-1976) and it was immediately adopted for the newsletter masthead and ministerial credentials.

The original logo was hand drawn. The current logo is a simplified version which omits the pair of descending slender hands holding the circular motif, and two Celtic style deer flanking it.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05554905422672638784noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19158895.post-80791040863367456532014-03-23T07:33:21.050-07:002014-03-23T07:33:21.050-07:00Words are still failing me:(

Sometimes it was hard to like her, especially at close quarters. I'm sure you know how that goes.

I shall miss her.

Bread and roses, bread and roses,

/mevsAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19158895.post-89941240332196503022014-03-23T03:00:34.009-07:002014-03-23T03:00:34.009-07:00Thanks for correction, Andras. Would have been '91, right? When I first met Ivo.

Oh, I could go on, but will forego the maudlin. ;-)Broomstick Chronicleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11217890674112142957noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19158895.post-61851742672200893582014-03-23T02:56:59.089-07:002014-03-23T02:56:59.089-07:00Beg to differ, Magenta. I think Amber K revised it. Amber also created the Leadership Institute that now precedes GC/MM. Perhaps that's where the confusion lies.

I also attended the first Midwest MM, at Circle Pines, where I first met Steven and Sparky. IIRC there were two other MMs at Circle Pines, one I went to and one I didn't.

At the first one I remember shucking corn for dinner while we were meeting under a tarp.

At the other one I attended there, Brandy Williams was NFO, I was keeping track of speakers, Aidan Kelly came from SCLC to run for SO. It rained and we danced in the rain.

The Frosts were also there. This was shortly after the EarthSpirit Community had lost a dear member to murder. Grey Cat was there with Keith. The late Donna Cole Schultz was there.

Funny what we remember -- sometimes accurately, sometimes fuzzily.
Broomstick Chronicleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11217890674112142957noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19158895.post-34155642919775446832014-03-22T19:39:06.974-07:002014-03-22T19:39:06.974-07:00Macha, thanks for your heartfelt and comprehensive...Macha, thanks for your heartfelt and comprehensive remembrance of Judy. One tiny correction for the sake of historical accuracy: the 1991 Merry Meet at which Judy "came out" as a Protean was not in New York --- it was at Camp Kingsmont in West Stockbridge, Massachusetts.Andras Corban-Arthenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10849772485363287498noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19158895.post-87681289626412928552014-03-22T18:49:59.730-07:002014-03-22T18:49:59.730-07:00Judy's DOB on Wikipedia has been corrected, pr...Judy's DOB on Wikipedia has been corrected, provided that March 3, 1945 is correct.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19158895.post-66097329983926586212014-03-22T08:33:52.121-07:002014-03-22T08:33:52.121-07:00Thank you, that was an excellent memorial.

Amber K. came up with the name, and also the logo, which has been used ever since for various COG purposes. The website doesn't have a history, so I can't check this.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19158895.post-35795521731444555302014-03-22T06:58:21.661-07:002014-03-22T06:58:21.661-07:00A fine tribute.
